"The art of putting your heart into something, without taking it out of yourself."
When people say..."Love yourself!" What does that even mean? Do you know? Do you love yourself?
I think loving yourself starts with acceptance. We all have flaws, internally and externally, but once you just accept that that's just you and you're going love and rock the things that make you unique...that's where it starts.
You also need to know your worth. Know your worth enough to respect yourself and not settle for anything less that what you know in your heart you deserve. If someone is making you feel like there is something wrong with you, if someone cheated on you for example, understand that that is their own demon to battle, not yours. NEVER change yourself for anyone. You can grow and adopt new behaviors from them that are positive and benefit YOU, but don't do it for them. Do it for you.
Sometimes we care too much. Sometimes we love too much. And sadly, a lot of the time people will take advantage of that. I'm a lover. I can't help but love and care for the special people I let enter my life. But one sided love will never be enough. The moment they start hurting your soul, the moment they're acting like you're ordinary...that's when you need to remember to love yourself first. That's when you need to remember who you are and what you're worth.
People say..."give the love you've been searching for to yourself." Again, what does that even mean? I think it means different things to different people. The most important thing is to remember to feed your soul with positivity and light.
You have so much to give. So much love, so much intellect, so much soul, so much color. But I guess I shouldn't say give… Maybe I should say share?
Know your worth. Remember who you are. Don't ever let anyone make you feel like you're missing something and that's why it didn't work out. You're not missing anything. You will continue to grow, you will continue to learn, and you will continue to become a better person with even more to share with someone. Someone that's deserving, someone that wants to share things with you too.
Be patient, shine bright, keep your head up.
