This past Sunday it was beautiful outside, so I wanted to get out and do something. I have been exploring German Village a lot lately because it is so beautiful over there. I decided to check out Pistacia Vera. Now, I have been to Pistacia Vera at North Market before, but the one I visited this Sunday was the free-standing cafe. They are known for their macarons.
What is a macaron?
“A macaron is a French sweet meringue-based confection made with egg white, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food coloring.”
The first time I ever had a macaron was in Paris. So, I am really picky when it comes to these things. If the texture is not right, the macarons can be unpleasant to eat. Pistacia Vera does a great job. Their macarons are cute, delicious and the texture is excellent.
The reason I really loved the free-standing cafe was because there was an array of hot and cold drink options, they had actual food, and the atmosphere was cool. They have little round tables that mimic the ones all over Paris. It is bright - making the macarons really pop.
